The change of friendships
Saturday, March 28
Friendships have always meant a lot to me. Due to family squabbles I don't have family that I can hang out with . So my friends are my family . And since I am a pretty guarded person the people I pick are pretty significant to my life .
I realized that I was doing a little more reaching out than they did. So when I decided to take a step back I realized that my relationships were Me driven. That's never a good feelings. Then you have to give in count of the ones who get married and have children. Once someone pops out a kid it ALL changes. But is that my fault for being a 27 year old with no child? So interactions with me are even slimmer? Uh I don't know..
Oh don't make me mention "friends who only want to see you at birthday celebrations, and bars." I haven't been to the bar in a year. Is this what adulthood looks like?
Did I mention that my 3 top friends in LIFE live in TX. Like WTH!
Okay I guess I just needed to vent. I am not down with change. I am not down with giving and not receiving anything. I am also not down with friends who get married or get in a relationship and forget an entire flock of friends. YUP
Its my blog ill whine if I want to.
I don't use friend loosely and I don't use love loosely by any means ... Ask someone !
When I lose a friend it's pretty devastating . The first friend who walked out of my life happened my 2nd year of college. I can't tell you why or if I did anything but at one moment we were friends and the next day we were nothing . There were some happy birthday texts in between but they were mainly me trying to patch things together which never happened.
A lot of y'all know my friend Creep. Creep and I went through about 2 1/2 years of hard times which thankfully ended in me calling a mutual friend getting her number and crying on the phone for about an hour .
Most recently I have friends I use to be close to like see every day or talk on the phone every day .We live in the same town and I haven't seen them in like 4-6 months . It's a little depressing .

Delta -Anne & Southern Dash : A rescue story
Friday, March 27
On February the 13 we had bring your dog to work day. Our clinical director was on vacation and she hates dogs. So we decided to bring our dogs to work and take pictures of them around the office.
It's been about 8 months since our Noella passed away . A lot of my friends have been pushing me to get another dog. But I just wasn't ready yet. I've gone to the shelter once or twice but none of the dogs made me remotely happy.
My friend ET wanted to go to the shelter since she didn't bring her dog to work and invited Chels and SE.
The shelter closest to our work wasn't open yet but the lady let us come in after SE told the owner that my puppy passes away. I decided when Noella passed away I didn't want another small dog . I really wanted a khaki lab. No Idea why but that's just what was on my mind.
There were 2 dogs at the shelter that I thought were cute but none of them made me excited . So we went to the other shelter. We walked in and the second dog fit my description to a T of what I wanted. The worker who was patrolling around was kinda strange but he asked if I wanted to walk her and I said yes but I wanted to wait until I saw all the dogs.

While looking through the shelter I realized that first pup was the only one I really liked.
The shelter helper put her on a leash and she took off. She was super hard to control but I imagined she was tired of being in that smelly pin. I decided that she was going to be my dog . I already had options for names so I immediately started calling her Delta . I left her outside with SE so I could go get cash and while I was out I got a call from a friend at the office . She told me one of her friends got a yellow lab puppy from a lady on FB who lives near Ruston. Her dog had 11 puppies and after several weeks of caring for them they just couldn't anymore due to expenses. I told her to tell the lady I wanted one . I went back to the shelter picked up Delta Anne and signed paperwork.
My friend Chels ended up getting a dog to surprise her husband for valentines day. So here we are 4 girls 2 huge dogs in a Nissan Altima which leather seats
When we got back to work Delta was in full force running across the parking lot . We got into the office where everyone was at with their dogs and 2 minutes later Delta squats and poops the smelliest and largest turd in canine life .
One of my co workers took her outside as I removed the crap from our carpet.
( what a great first impression.) Then of course I had to take her to my house to change cars and then to the vet we went.
I chose a vet that I heard a friend of mine talk about. All the girls thought Delta Anne was a precious name and how adorable she is. I really cant believe someone didn't want to adopt her.

1st car ride!- You see I had no idea how to put this harness on . ( 5 minute Dirt Cheap special)
The vet checked her out and to Pet Smart and the Dollar Tree we went to buy goodies.
I had been texting the lady from Fb all evening and she was coming through my town to go out of town so I met her at Brookshires. When she pulled up she had two kids in the car. I could see her daughter mouthed " you're meeting a black woman" And the lady said "apparently so. " Imagine my disgust ( eye roll and side eye) After some small talk I got my hands on the precious soft little little boy. His name is Southern Dash . I had Delta Anne in the car and she said Oh you have a older lab too. Oh great I'm so happy. Little did she know I just got Delta too.

The End!
Happy Birthday JmN
Wednesday, March 25
I never grew up with expectations of a man . And somehow when I got into my only serious relationship in life I picked the man I needed.
It's crazy because when I see other men I compare them to him and no one comes close.
Pretty men are only good for one night stands. Not to say jMN isn't easy on the eyes. But I need a man who isn't afraid to tear a pair of jeans and can get dirty.
Its funny because other men old and young flock to him because they know they learn from him.
Pretty teeth is a must
A bond with his family
Hardworking ambitious
A little on the arrogant side
And can get along with a fly on the wall.
Chubby smart and kind
That's my JMN
Happy Birthday Dear
Kitchen Remodel: Buh Bye Counter tops
Monday, March 23
2015 Kitchen remodel continues!
JMN ripped out our countertops. It literally took him 20 minutes. Do you know Home Depot wanted to charge us $13 per sq ft to remove them? PSHH saved those coins! They are supose to be coming in a couple days to put our granite in . I am super excited. I feel like we have been doing this forever!
On another note.... We took down the cabinets so we could add the new hinges since the half covered painted ones were so not cute ( side eye). For some strange reason I really like the cabinets with no doors.
I'm going to miss our sink because the new one is a 50/50 and this one was a 80/20. We had the perfect place to but dirty utensils.

A friend from work got married the last week in Febuary . And for some reason I tried to schedule 5 different other events on that weekend as well.
I have been traveling all my life . When I was younger our vacations were 3 times a year with the shortest stay of 3 nights . Of course my parents packed for me so I always had just the right amount of clothing .
When I got old enough to pack for myself I was also responsible for carrying it. My bags were usually huge ! I would have everything from a change of clothes three times a day to my favorite blanket pillow cover and my pillow. And normally I would be packed an entire week before the trip.
Like my youth my packing skills are usually about the same. I bring a weeks worth of clothes for 3 days. MINUS THIS WEEKEND. I didn't bring enough ! I stressed myself out trying to figure out what I was going to wear to the wedding. I picked several dresses and sent to my friends so I could get their approval.
You'll check out my next post to see what I picked !
Being an Aunt
Saturday, March 14
Most of yall don't know that I have actually have a total count of 6 nephews and nieces . My brother, who lives in Seattle, has a son name Drake ( ironic huh?) Not really our mother just is awesome at naming her children. And my brother named his son after our oldest brother who passed away.
I was in high school when Drake was born and I have regretfully only met him once.
Justin's brother Jeremy before he passed had 5 kids. Taijah, Madison, Jeremy Jr Nicholas, & Cody.
Being an aunt is really rewarding. I cant tell you how proud I am of these kids. Its like having children without them coming to your house everyday. I really wish my nephew visited Louisiana I want to show him and my brother how much I have grown and have the ability to show love to other people besides myself.
( Not Pictured Drake and Cody)
Kitchen remodel: Cabinets
Friday, March 13
Guys I tell you these cabinets make the kitchen look completely different . They also confirmed that these tan appliances have to go. You know I can not for the life of me figure out where the previous owners of our house got these appliances or why they decided to pick such an awkward tile counter top situation .

My favorite place to take selfies is in the sun while sitting in my truck. I tell you the sun and the height of my truck at the right angle makes my skin look like I am part porto-re-cano .
Just wanted to share a little bit of myself with you guys today .
Where is your favorite selfie spot ?
URXTour
Friday, March 6- <<< I'm having malfunctions.. so bare with me>>>>
In December, I dragged JMN to New Orleans to see Usher and August Alsina. This was an impromptu concert. I love Usher especially his Confessions album but recently I haven't really been as enthralled with him as I once was. There is no particular reason but you know sometimes your taste ends up in other places.
I remember when I found out that Usher was going on tour . It kind of took me by surprise. I was shocked that he decided to go out with August Alsina. This up in coming thug R& B singer. I know a lot of bloggers and TV personalities said that they thought Chris Brown or Trey Songz would have been a safer artist to take on tour. But for whatever reason August Alsina was the guy he wanted ....
Over the last year, I have really started to like August Alsina. JMN got his Cd Testimony and although the album was a little too hardcore for me I really liked his Ep Downtown: Life Under the Gun . I got it a couple months after this single I love this came out. I have a niece that thinks he is the cutest thing , so when you have a teenager paying attention to someone you should keep your eyes peeled. Plus I'm from Louisiana you really cant get any better than a New Orleans accent. ( please say the baby)
This was my first concert at the Smoothie King Center. I remember when it was being built I was a little upset. because the Superdome was literally right next to it . I was thinking why would you build a huge venue right next to the hugest venue in Louisiana. I still don't have an answer to that but I will say it was nice to use the Superdomes parking garage so I assume the city of New Orleans knew what they were doing. The Smoothie King facility was very nice. Large but still kind of intimate.
August is from New Orleans . So I thought after a couple of his hits he was going to bring out special guest or like really show out. To my disappointment there were no special guests! Also his accent is really thick. Some songs I didn't realize what they were until the chorus. He was only on the stage for about 30 minutes. And I think in those 30 minutes there was just enough time for him to take his shirt off and dance with the 2 chicks he had on stage. It kinda seemed as if he was very stage shy. I felt like he didn't interact with the crowd as much as I would have liked him to . But I will say that he started on time and everything was like clock work.
After August Alsina. There was a mid performer named Dj Cassidy. The crowd went crazy for him . I had no idea who he was. His mixes were decent and were entertaining until Ushers stage was ready.
I have never seen Usher in concert. I probably should have went in 2005/2006 when his music was heavily in my rotation but hey you live and you learn. Hands down this was the BEST R&B concert I have been to. Firstly Ushers catalog is hella big. As he sang every song I remember exactly what was going on in my life as he was singing. He was very interactive with the crowd. And on majority of the songs he didn't even have to sing. You could hear the crowd singing word for word along with the music . It was really a beautiful thing. I always hear about how music unites all types of people but to actually witness an arena with about ehh 50,000 people all singing the words to his mans life was amazing. I don't think I will ever forget that.
This concert started on time and Ushers performance alone was about 2 hours. This concert was more than I expected and the price I paid was more than worth it. Usher kept singing and even when we thought it was over there were 2 more songs.
I believe this concert was for all generations. It was truly amazing. Also did I mention that Usher doesn't even have a current album out. Who tours with singles? I mean I bet more artists wishe they could do that.
Here is the set list.
1. My Way

25. Without you
Can you just imagine this man sweating, singing and dancing his life away for 2 straight hours. Luckily you don't have to imagine long because I have a couple of videos. This stage was pretty simple. But he did have this amazing mechanical X and depending on the song they could manipulate it to become the focal point. You know I really appreciate an artist that appreciates all their fans. Whether they are on the front row or they are on the very last seat of the nose bleeds. And since I am frugal Francis the nose bleeds and I are very well acquainted. The reason I continue to purchase those tickets is because some artists have screens on their stage that will allow them to show the entire venue what is happening on stage. Usher had HUGE screens and his lighting did not affect the appearance of the screens. Thanks Usher!
I really cant even think of anything he could have done that would have made me love it any more than I did. Wait SPECIAL GUESTS! If you are looking for a amazing singer and dancer you really cant get any better than Usher Raymond. So I most definitely would recommend everyone to attend one of his future concerts . Or if your funds don't allow you to do so maybe check out some videos on Youtube.
Enjoy!
