Day 10950 Weekend Celebration

In August I messaged some of my bestest friends and asked if they would like to do something for my 30th birthday. Initially I wanted to go to a state park somewhere and camp. We looked all over LA& TX at state parks air bnbs and just couldnt find anything that wasnt super expensive or super far away, since none of my friends live in the same city. NONE OF THEM. Anywho We were going to settle on a cabin at Darbonne State park when I decided to look at Air bnb one more time. Then I found this amazing house . Click here to see the house.

All i wanted to do is hang out with my friends. Eat, drink, and watch movies. Thats its . Simple and fun weekend. I made everyone shirts and wrote them a card about hoe much a appreciate each one of them and why.

Since everyone lives in different places everyone came in at different times. Creep came first, she lives in Austin so she came the night before and spent the night with her mammaw who I share a birthday with :) So I met her at  Mommaws house and we went headed to the celebration. Once we got there we met with the owner who showed us around and gave us some tips for the town. We went to Walmart to grab food and back to the house to chill until JMN came to get Cucs . Creep made spaghetti with turkey sausage and garlice bread.  DELICIOUS.
 The next person to get there was Misti who was coming from Dallas. She immediatley wanted to cook for tomorrow. She stayed for a couple hours then went to her grandparents for the night. Then Laquita came ! I share a birthday with her mom so i wasnt sure when exactly she was coming, but I was excited when I opened the door. Last but not least the late night commutor Mindy came. She is actually in a wedding the day of my birthday.
Unfortunately Jasmine couldnt make it due to a death in the family.

That night we watched Columbiana, Creep made a fire !!!! and we ate chocolate chip pecan pie.
It was literally the best night I've had in months.

Day 10950+Farmerville, LA+ Air bnb

For my 30th birthday me and my bestest of friends rented a lake house in Farmerville LA. It was BEAUTIFUL. Here are my snaps of the house.

Happy 29

My 29th Birthday was celebrated by getting my hair, nails, and toes done. I had plans to have this massive bonfire but the rain that was suppose to last 30 mins to an hour lasted 2-3 hours. So the wood was wet ( haaa wet wood) and no one wants to be wet and cold.  So JMN and I dashed to make the house look acceptable in order for folks to come to the house.   This year I asked for a Kit Kat cake. It was oh so good. I hadnt had any sweets ( minus 2 bites of wedding cake on 11.5.16) since September 20th.  Honestly the first couple bites were kinda gross.

 Earlier that day Ej and I had gone to Toys R US and I picked up this cool cards on Monopoly game.  The conversation was too juicy to pay attention to how to actually play but how cool was it that I pulled the birthday card. 

At 2:45 am we shut it down . Clearly the boys drank tooo much to function around 12/1ish.

Shoutout to everyone who came over amidst the change of plans.

Surprise Surprise

I am going to throw CyCy a surprise 10th birthday party. 

I've never "thrown " a birthday party for a kid. As a kid my family didn't celebrate birthdays but as a grown up I have become super fond of the day that others are born into the world. 

God willing our fence will be finished and we can have it in the back yard. The theme will be a garden party. I have ideas for the  cake, party favors, and some games. Stay tuned to see what magic I'm able to pull together.

MY BIRTHDAY/ Potluck

My 28th birthday was on Nov 18th and we had our annual Thanksgiving potluck at work. I am pretty sure it was the first time since I was 21 that I actually went to work. And the only reason I went to work today was because it was our Thanksgiving potluck. So I thought I could come in for at least half a day.

When I got to work I had some amazing door décor thanks to Courtney . And throughout the day some presents found their way to my desk too. I just love birthday presents. But most importantly there were cards !!

Google even wished me a happy birthday. I didn't know me and google were friends like that lol.

 

All and all my birthday at work was pretty good. I was so full from the apps ( not picture) that I only ate the cheese grits and broccoli on this plate.

Also let me tell you about this amazing scarf that you see pictured. Do you see that cute girl with the reindeer sweater on? That's ET. she came in the office with this gorgeous scarf on that I decided to lift from her neck to drape across mine.

Surprise birthday party

Today is one of my dear friends Amanda Burchart 28th birthday ! Happy Birthday, gf ( insert winky emoji)

In celebration of her birthday which is exactly a month from mine let me tell you about my surprise birthday celebration.

JMN is never allowed to know about any surprise that y'all have for me. just remember that. My friends Brady & Haylee  were having a baby celebration for their daughter Evie ( which now has been born) on Nov 14. It had been planned for some time and everyone one from work was going to be there. But little did I know, the party was turned into a Birthday Celebration for me.

 For some odd reason I thought the party was starting at 2 and I would leave around 6/7 to go crafting with Cathy & Amy. So when I found out through Slack that the party was happening at 5:30 I told them I would only be there for an hour because I made plans. Long story short JMN told me that I needed to go to the party because they were doing something for me. I looked at him like he was crazy because why on earth would they throw a party for me? uhm.. But everyone was blowing up my phone like Alisa you are the life of the party how could you not come?! My thoughts were WTH what happened in my life that I am the life of a baby shower. That's depressing.

Long story short I ruined the party and the almost gave Haylee and Brady a heart attack by saying I wasn't coming . I also showed up an hour early. SORRY GUYS

Almost 10 years ago today

 Today is my 28th birthday. So I thought I would take it back to my 18th birthday.

Most of you guys are aware that my family did not celebrate holidays. So I did not have a birthday celebration ( dinner with friends because it was my birthday) until i was 21.

I never grew up with expectations of a man . And somehow when I got into my only serious relationship in life I picked the man I needed.

It's crazy because when I see other men I compare them to him and no one comes close.

Pretty men are only good for one night stands. Not to say jMN isn't easy on the eyes. But I need a man who isn't afraid to tear a pair of jeans and can get dirty.

Its funny because other men old and young flock to him because they know they learn from him.

Happy birthday to me!!!

Nov18 was my 27th birthday .

And I couldn't have been more blah.

Yeah that's the only way I can explain it .

I had no plans to actually interact with real people . Which is completely the opposite of my previous birthdays.

My other half couldn't take off work due to inventory at this store and my " friends" were all working and I was having that selfish moment where  I wanted them to come to me and try and make my birthday special . 

I have been wallowing in birthday self pity for a couple weeks now. I have no idea why . One day in the office I was practically in tears . Oh 27 3 years until 30 approximately 70 years left of life. 

How stinking depressing ..

You know how I spent it?
I drove two hours to go to Louisiana Boardwalk and shopped my life away.

I took a chance and walked into Mastercuts in Bossier serious afro in hand and the hair lady sprayed gold on my hair and laid it down!

 

No idea why I didn't remove my scarf and pea coat.. Actually I looked like a serious skank in a tennis dress and leggings.

I'm a snob so the only places I wanted to go was Gap & Fossil. $300 later I left with  a closet full.

I didn't ask for anything for my birthday.. Why? because I honestly have more than I could ever ask for. And since my family doesn't celebrate holidays the only person that was looking for something to get me was JMN.  So I sent him a picture on Pinterest of this amazing Reese cake.

of course every time it comes to my name people want to manipulate it to be something else so JMN had to get them to fix it.

Its my birthday so why am I waiting on JMN to get dressed?
