The Texas Shuffle: April 2015+ The Park

Sunday morning I sent a quick selfie to JMN and we got ready for Brunch at The Park. I live in Louisiana  and there are not many events where we find it acceptable to be outside . Especially in the middle of the day and eating. Austin had the most perfect weather. We were able to sit on the patio and eat a delicious brunch buffet with build your own Bloody Mary's. I was a little day drunk and I loved it.

Texas Shuffle April 2015: Austin Tx

Did you know that you can not buy mixed drinks or daiquiri's in drives in Texas but you can buy beer in drive thru storage buildings.... Texas I need you to seriously think about this.

Coronas on deck! I don't know when Coronas were born but they were a hit at the 90s birthday party we went to for Elise's friend Monique.  We played card of Humanity. It was quite entertaining.

 

Kitchen Remodel: Penis light begone

March was apparently a busy month for us no wonder I didn't update yall.
Let me tell you about JMN! This man can do anything. Thank you William Nelson for this intelligent man that know how to work with his hands ( wink wink).  THE PENIS LIGHT IS GONE. 


We've been looking at lights for a while. But everywhere we went this one was by far the best. Lowe's is usually not a store we shop at. I have been purchasing from Home Depot since 2006. And frankly I like to go to places where people know my name. why? because I'm a BOSS.

I know you are checking out my kitchen décor. Ill give yall some insight on that a little later.

Breaux Bridge : 4am hotel party

My group left the wedding before everyone else. It was late and we def  had our share of fun. Plus I really wanted to shower. Some people wanted to go to the bar ( okay I wanted to go back to the bar) and others just wanted to hang out at the room. So we decided to have a hotel party. Majority of the people who came down had a room at the Microtel  so it was just safer. We crammed 20 people in a suite and played phase 10 and drank beer until about 1 . Then we moved the party next door to Scott's so Chels could get some sleep. Mindy was the first to pass out in Scott's room , then Scott so Brady, ET and myself stayed up until 4 am. Sometimes you just need to get things off your mind.
 This night solidified my friendships with these people.

Improv+ Arlington, TX July 2015

Misti and I went to Arlington to this comedy show. I was open minded but skeptical. I've never been to a comedy show, I don't watch stand up, and according to The Wests smiling makes you have winkles so I need to keep that to a minimum.
To my surprise this was the coolest thing ever. There were super clean bathrooms, great selfie lighting, FOOD, and pretty good drinks. We got there 15 minutes before it opened so when we did go in we got DANG good seats. There were tables and booths and the room was probably half the size of a movie theater.
There were 3 comedians. And one of the guys was  from my hometown.
Unfortunately I cant remember their names ...

Kitchen Remodel: Sink

When we talked about the granite did I tell yall we caught a sell? We got a percentage off and we got to chose a free under mounted sink? No? Well it totally happened.  So here is a close up  look at the granite, faucet, and super cute sink that the granite people installed for us.

 

Honor Society : UNO Dias- May 2015

I had the honor of going to New Orleans in May with my genius neice Taijah on the Honor Society trip. Her mother was in Dallas with Madison on a trip and JMN was at Disney World for a Beta Club trip! This trip was none stop. We left at about 5 am. We didn't stop until Hammond at Subway. Yes that's a long time!

 When we got to the zoo I took my hair down and noticed I had blue hair!

I'm pretty sure I was the coolest chaperon there was. I had my niece and two other girls. After the Zoo we went to downtown New Orleans. Apparently I have never been to Downtown New Orleans in the day light or sober so I felt like I had never seen it before. But that smell never goes away. We were able to go to a jazz concert. Just the Honor Society. The gentleman who played were very good job and have earned some serious awards.

 Then the mall!

 There was some type of white party going on. it was beautiful.

We stayed at the Clarion. I think.... I thought watching these girls would be easy but boy did that change.
