- -released on December 18, 2012 featuring 16 tracks and 71 minutes of TIP lyrical action. This was his last album that was released on Atlantic Records. Prior to this album was No Mercy which was released in 2010. TI stated in a recent interview with The Breakfast Club 105.5 crew that No Mercy was a great album considering the circumstances he was under during his sentence and probation. Many people thought this “soft “ album was what TI has turned into but TI reassured his fans that everything he wrote and spoke about during this time was truthful but was not the normal or the future of his music.
- Released on November 19, 2012 featuring 14 seductively spinning songs. Rihanna has consistently released albums every November since 2009. This album features 5 well known artists including her controversial conceited boyfriend Chris Brown. This album features a crazy electronica version of Ginuwine’s 1996 Pony. Best album since Good Girl Gone Bad
3. Kendrick Lamar Good Kid MAAD City
-Released on October 22, 2012. This is his 2nd studio album from Aftermath/Interscope Records. 2nd single off the album is entitled Poetic Justice which samples the single “Anytime Any Place’ from Janet Jackson’s 5th album Janet. This song also features Drake. In 2012 Drake brought Kendrick Lamar on Thank Me Later tour.as an opening act. Drake has spoken about helping the younger artist gain acclaim and welcomes them into the game.
4. Alicia Keys Girl on Fire
- Released on November 22, 2012. This album was leaked 2 weeks before its official released date. On the first week this album sold 159,000 units. Girl on Fire was the first record from Alicia since switching from Sony record to RCA Records. The first single which is also titled Girl on Fire. The album peaked to the 11th position on the Billboard charts with the help of a Nicki Minaj feature.
5. Wiz Khalifa ONIFC
- released December 4, 2012. ONIF stands for Only N in First Class. This is Wiz 4th studio album which has 17 tracks with the total time of 74 minutes. In the first week Mr. Khalifa sold 148,000 units. With 8 features 1 including an intro from his fiancée Amber Rose titled Rise Above. Pharell and Tirki are also featured on this song. Seems like this west coast “crossover” rapper has earned his way into the rap game pretty quickly..
6. Chief Keef Finally Rich
- released on December 18, 2012 Chief Keef is excelling on his 1st studio album. Although the Chicago native does not seem to have been perceived very highly with some of the Hip Hop elders, Chief Keefs audience has been very supportive and have let him know that they respect the music he is putting out to the streets.
7. The Game Jesus Piece
- Released December 11, 2012 Jesus Piece was wildly anticipated by The Games fans. The lead single Celebration was a hit featuring Chris Brown, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Wayne. The album cover artist was controversial by many for featuring a black gangster Jesus. Other copies cover was a picture of The Games brother who was killed at the age of 21.
8. Frank Ocean Channel Orange
- released July 10, 2012 to Def Jams new artist Frank Ocean. Which I am sure you have been informed to be the 1st uncloseted bi sexual man in Hip Hop /R&B. many people have stated his time of declaration of his sexuality was a publicity stunt. Frank has spoken about it openly in several interviews. With that being said it has not ruined his career and perhaps it has boosted it a couple notches. Channel Orange is a 17 track ride thru the strange mind of the artist. There are lots of Intros and no song is the same .Some actually compared Frank Ocean to be male version of Lady GaGa..
9. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis The Heist
- released on October 9, 2012. Let’s just be honest I have never heard of these artists. So without goggling information that I would be providing to you falsely I rather not present anything to you at all.
10. 2 Chainz Based on a TRU Story
- released on August 14, 2012 this Rap God has been blasting in every Hood/trap/suburban /urban area imaginable. Taheed Epps or better known as Tity Boi /2 Chainz has changed the strip clubs around the world with his lyrical appreciate for the booty clubs fueling them to continue to shake their asses for cash. 2 chainz was signed with DTP (Ludacris label) since 2007 but recently switched to Kanye West GOOD MUSIC label. 1st single No Lie was released in May which featured Drake. Since then Birthday Song and I’m Different have been released and done very well on the charts.
