Po Johnson + This is my ish

So last week I watched the current season of La La Full Court Life on VH1 and was introduced to some of her freeloading friends one being Po . Immediately I loved her style including her obv  fake blonde hair and nose ring. Po wants to be a music artist and although the show doesn’t sample any of her music she finally put out a video.
I watched a 1:19 of this video and the only thing I enjoyed was the humping of the drum set. This is the type of BOOFOOLERY that real artists have to deal with ? Po find another dream !!
Please and thank you

Robin Thicke + Blurred Lines Videos

I am not a major fan of Robin Thicke. I don’t think I have listen to any of his albums in their entirety and this single does not make me change my mind. When I saw that Pharell and TI was featured on this track I was excited because those two have not made a song together since Freak Though ( circa 2005?) and I LOVED IT. The only reason I even stayed tuned was because Robin Thicke is a beautiful man and I love the fact that he appreciates brown women.
Now as far as this video , it is horrific!  It basically is a parade of the ass-less women of America and I am never down for seeing that .At the beginning of the song Robin sounds just like Prince. Now if you are a Prince fan ( which I am not ) you might excited to listen to this . If not don’t bother to click on this video unless you would like to see Pharell dance around in metallic suits. OH BTW Robin is promoting the heck out of REMY!

LeLe Nails

So about 8 years ago I was introduced into the nail shop world . On special occasions (once or twice a year) my mom would take me to get my nails done . There was this place called Pro Nails in the Super 1 shopping Plaza . They didn’t have many polish selections and the girls were really young . But I loved that they played MTV videos all day long . And randomly a girl would sing to it . Which was a show of its own
Once I actually got my license I went back to Pro Nails expecting to see the same girls over the years but the shop had completely changed . There was an. Older lady there and a there were several plants . The walls that were once pink were a dingy white and there was no TV or radio . I felt like the older woman was yelling at me to sit down and not look at the polish until it was my turn . After that experience I never returned.
Fast forward a year or so a friend of mine asked to go get a pedicure with her . I asked her where and she told me LeLe Nails across from the jr high and sonic . I had never had a pedicure before and the fact that someone wanted to scrub anything off of my feet was beyond me but Im was ready for an adventure !
I printed out map quest to make sure I ended up in the right stop. This building use to be an aquarium . My mom had taken me to get a goldfish here several times .
It was was about 5 and there was about 3 people in chairs against the wall waiting . There was a little boy in the corner with a bunch of toys that seemed to be having the time of his life . The best part of my experience that day was the massage chair. I remembered feeling so grown up. The woman who came to do my feet was so nice but I felt so bad because I couldn’t keep still or quiet anything she would stroke my feet with this thing what looked most comparable to a cheese grater I would screech with laugher.
Fast forward a couple years when I am more financially stable and feeling really down I came in to get my nails down . I was there about an hour & a half but I had so much fun in that hour here than I had all week . The small kid that I remembered seeing was bigger now and he came up to me and handed me a book. He asked me to read it to him so I did . I had a good visit and I couldn’t wait to come back.
Every two weeks like clock work I came here . This place makes me feel so at home. It reminds me of the customers I use to see at McAlisters. Some I couldn’t wait to see so I could catch up with me and discuss life . Im constantly bragging on what a great job they do . But beyond the service they do provide for me I feel loved. There is no other place that can provide that for me and this is why I am so loyal and proud to be their customer.

Crafttime : Shelf

So I’ve been looking for a shelf for quite so time for my office. I took a end table out of my living room because the mess I had was becoming too much .I wanted to put my living room back together which meant I had to find something to hold all the crap in my office . I went to Target, Wal-Mart, Big Lots and Dirt Cheap several times . Looking for a simple and non expensive black shelf . Finally I gave up because the shelf that I was looking for wasn’t going to be found !
So Kristi Michelle and I set out on an adventure to Home Depot . I love Home Depot when I was remodeling my house in 2006 Home Depot was my favorite store. I went there so much that I made friends with several of the employees. But I had never had an experience with the wood department . Kristi Michelle helped me figure out what kind of wood to pick to make this shelf . Yes I decided to make a shelf and I didn’t even think about the size of the wood or the size of the shelf I wanted to make. We got this nice guy to pick out ” the good wood” and pushed it forth to pay for it ! $19.48 later I was otw home to build the shelf of my dreams . Now I had already called a friend to bring down the wood cutter but the night crept up on us quicker than expected . Then KMS left me to defend for myself with a measuring tape and pen .
Soon my other half came home and to my surprise was very very helpful with the cutting and showing me where to drill. Of course we ran into a problem with leveling because somehow his leveler was missing . But it turned out pretty stable without it .
A couple days later Kristi Michelle came over to help with the painting process !
And although we almost froze to death the shelf is FANTASTIC!
Ingredients:
Wood ( pick a size ours is 12X10x8)
Screws
Drill
Level or free level iPhone app
Woodsaw
Paint

Craftime

This is the 1st time I have ever tried out a stencil . And as you can see I didn’t do the best job on it but you get the message ! You Need LOVE
Everyone is a recipient of love . No matter who you are . I think letting someone in is the hardest thing to do ! Even if it doesn’t end well you can learn from it .

LaLa's Full court life

I just basically watched all of the current season episodes on OnDemand. And I must say VH1 has cranked out some quality ! Y’all know I’m all for different nationalities begging represented on TV and for people who don’t know LaLa is puerto rican ! { is that word together or separate ?}
Anyway .. This show is basically about her family ( she married Carmelo Anthony (NBA Player {Nicks? NeTs?}) her son Kiyan , mom Carmen, cousin Dice and friend Po and their lives between NY and LA .
There is no drama, not a lot of foul language and she has lots of celebrity friends ! It’s only a 30 min show but it’s great!

The most refreshing drink of childhood. The Icee

So today as i was trying to make a conscientious decison on what i am going to eat for a early dinner.I am going to be working late I chose Subway. Well the closest Subway to where i work happends to be in a Chevron gas station. & upon entering the happiness that only a child born in the 80s in the horrible temptered state of Louisiana would understand overwhelmed me. The sight of that fuzzy polar bear that you can only assocaite with Coke a Cola during Christmas ad is splashed across this machine that is usually sticky and making horrific noses. & there he stands!!!! In a stupid knitted sweater and no pants. At this very moment i am quielty praying for a good flavor. Someone in the ICEE corp. thinks that everyone wants Coke or DP ICEE and im like HELL NO! Give me Bubble Gum, Peach, Raspberry and on a desperate occasion ill take a Strawberry. To my surprize Raspberry is the flavor of the day and i am moon walking in my flats to the excitement that this machine has granted me. ( no really, this is happening in the store)
Now the fat choice would to get a 32 oz and the inner skinny dream within me says AMN {yes i refer to myself as AMN in my mind} get the 14oz. So i made the decison to not depreive myself but to not over indulge. {Fat kid high 5) So all this brings me to this important question. WHERE ARE ALL THE ICEE MACHINES? There use to be in every conveient store. Now there are these nasty slushy machines and even when they are good flavors they taste disgusting mixed together. GROSSS Who doesnt enjoy a good mixed drink?? {peach & cherry? tea and long island? bubblegum & bananas? Gin & juice? HELLO} i want to protest against these horrible corps who thinks these nasty slushies are what the new American children should grow up on!
LONG LIVE THE ICEE

Tetralogy
So its 2004 in Mrs. Heard’s Spanish class and the girl next to me name Kim has this book and would not put it down. The book is ratty looking covered in a metallic purple& yellow and the title is bold and black and read CHEATERS. I asked Kim what she was reading and she showed me the book I shook my head. I’ve never heard of it. At the time the only thing that was reaching my palms were books about British teenagers and boring young adults who hate their lives. Kim said let me finish the last pages and ill let you take it home. I humped my shoulders and let her finished.
When Kim finished she gave me the book. That night I took home the 1st book that would lead into an obsession of sex, adulthood and the lost of mental innocence. I stayed up all night until I finished that book. The next day in Spanish I gave Kim back the book and she asked me if I liked it and I eagerly replied YEAH! This was my first taste of the sexy life style I was only dreaming of. My next trip to the library consisted of finding of the African American Erotica section. SMUT is usually another term that maybe used. I was expose to the wittings of Eric Jerome Dickey, Mary Monroe, and Zane. Then I even started dabbing my pen in a little erotic ink. It was dark, nasty and forbidden and no one had any idea the things i was reading, researching and writing. Most of my days were a blur after that because all I wanted to do was get home and read. The pages were getting longer and longer until soon enough I couldn’t help myself but to bring my books to school and read them during my down time. While everyone was reading Harry Potter with witches and wizards I was reading about Nina & Rachel and the threesomes they had in their parents basements.
So Eric Jerome Dickey has changed my literary life as well as my sexual. Below is a list of accomplishments he has given us. ( excluding the tetralogy)
Sister, Sister (1996)
Friends & Lovers (1997)
Milk In My Coffee (1998)
Cheaters (1999)
Liars Game (2000)
Got To Be Real (2000) – contributing writer
Mothers and Sons (2001) – contributing writer
Between Lovers (2001)
Griots Beneath the Baobab: Tales from Los Angeles (2002) – contributing writer
Black Silk (2002)
Thieves’ Paradise (2002)
Gumbo: A Celebration of African American Writing (2002) – contributing writer
The Other Woman (May, 2003)
Naughty or Nice (October 2003)
Drive Me Crazy (July 2004)
Genevieve (May 2005)
Voices from the Other Side: Dark Dreams II (April 2006) – contributing writer
Chasing Destiny (May 2006)
Pleasure (April 2008)
Tempted by Trouble (August 2010)
An Accidental Affair (April 2012)
Decadence (April 2013)
Cappuccino (film) [1]
I have head 15 of his books and the rest are sitting on my shelf waiting for that right moment to be read.
Now I picked this tetralogy because like anyone who reads or watching a TV show after that show you always wonder what is next? Well so far this has kept going and going and who knows there might be another book to pick up after yall read this.
This series is about a man who goes by several names but mainly Gideon. He is a contract killer who is looking to answer some questions in his life .He doesn’t have any family. The only family he did have was his mother who was a prostitute. He doesn’t know who his father is and he wants to find out where he came from. Now even with all of that going on he has to make a living and the one he has picked comes with its on risk factor. There are a lot of interesting things that happen along his travels. So not only is this Erotica but it is a mystery and biography . I encourage you guys to get deeply involved in the text.
Some quotes:
“we shed the skins of who we used to be!”
― Eric Jerome Dickey, Sleeping with Strangers
My personal favorite quote
“sleepin with strangers will have you waking with enemies!”
― Eric Jerome Dickey, Sleeping with Strangers
“common sense is the enemy of romance”
― Eric Jerome Dickey, Waking with Enemies
“with attachment comes pain!”
― Eric Jerome Dickey, Dying for Revenge
“when a lie is repeated enough it becomes the truth!”
― Eric Jerome Dickey, Dying for Revenge
I’m not going to give away the steamy parts but make sure you have a love one near or their replacement coming.
