New home for CyCy

CyCy is gone.
The decision was very hard to make. When we began this journey really because of  my need to fulfill a lifelong dream to adopt . But we settled on fostering. The age range we wanted to serve was rare. Because most people usually already have children and want the child that is coming to their home  to be younger than their own.

We really thought CyCy was the perfect child for us. She was kind, helpful, loving, not to mention she took the transition well. There were things we looked over due to her past and limitations but we poured into her as much as she allowed us to.

Around the time of her birthday we noticed a change. I think fun time was over and she really missed home and with no contact from her family it just got hard. But we stuck it out for as long as we possibly could. But sometimes you have to really listen to kids and their wants. I couldnt imagine growing up one way with certain expectations and being thrown in another situation with someone telling me what my  new norm is.

We hope that she finds happiness and a family to meet all of her needs.

CyCy & I Love JKAW

Jasmine sent this video that CyCy and I sent her a couple months ago. It made my soul cry out in laughter.

Cafe Capp+ Waco, TX+ October 2016

After Dallas we made the trek to Waco to see our Jasmine. She is wrapping up her time in Waco and is now planning to move to Atlanta. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
How many years have we been waiting for her to move back home?
I guess I need to start pricing flights.

She met us at this cute little restaurant where I wanted to eat all of the menu but I decided to eat 2 giant choc pecan pancakes.  After we brought Jmn back to speed . I had to take a picture of this adorable wall.  Then Jasmine took us on a mini tour around Waco since JMN had never been there.

My best friend bought a house

Which means JMN and I went to Dallas to help " move  them in" Okay that was totally my intention but in reality I spent time with my God daughter Aniya.  Well I spent time letting her warm up to me so I can attack her with love.

There new home is brand new and amazing. I cant wait for them to fully unpack so I can come back and hang.

Congrats guys.

True Love + Book Review + Jennifer Lopez

I rented this book on tape at my local library.  I tend to navigate towards biographies due to my obsession of learning everything I can about a person. I LOVE it when the person who writes the book narrates their book on tape. I don't see why you wouldn't. This is a personal story about you to us and what other way am I suppose to connect than to hear your voice.

I think it was after my Jennifer Lopez binge 2016 where I had to make sure I had all of her albums in my possession. I've always liked Jennifer Lopez, but didn't know a whole lot about her personal life is which probably something she wished people didn't know.

This book gave me an inside light to her marriage with Marc Anthony. Honestly she made me feel more connected to the fact that relationships are hard work and its hard to have it all and especially display grace.

Sharp Objects+ Book Review + Gillian Flynn

I read this book sometime in 2015. I really like where the details of this book lead to images in you head. The ending of this book is crazy and I feel like it probably happens more often than not in real life which is a little scary.

Read and tell me what you think.

Big Cheezy + New Orleans, La + September 2016

This place was so good I cant even put it in words. Yall know I love cheese.  But for some reason this place is on the tip top of my amazingness meter. I even slacked my co friends ( yes co workers./ friends) a picture of my sandwich because I was so in love with it.

Tulsa, OK: July 2016: Hop Bunz + July 2016

The first restaurant we went to in Tulsa was Hop Bunz. I think I found it on Pinterest and we were suppose to have this perfect morning at the farmers market but it rained. Im not talking about a cute little rain , I'm talking nasty, thunder, lightening etc. So I am carefully gliding into this restaurant because of course I am not prepared shoe size for the weather.  As I am walking up towards the building it really reminded me of Hop Doddy in Austin, TX. See Here.

Check out the poster behind Chubbs.

Freaking BINGO!

Our meal was amazing, and the service was good. As you can see in that video JMN's burger was full of all kinds of goodness. I treated myself to a $2 mimosa and this peanut butter carmel shake that JMN took after I asked him to hold it. ( side eye)

GO Visit this place!

Olive Branch Bakery & Cafe + Waco, TX+ May 2016

In May, When CyCy and I went to Waco on our last day atfter church we went to this amazing restaurant called Olive Branch. Of all of you travelers its in the same building as Spice Village. Olive Branch was simple but I just loved the layout and Decor. It just added another reason why I love Waco.

This gentleman is in need of some buns.

I want to take a moment and praise this Jalapeno Cheese  soup. OMG. It was AMAZING.

 Thank you JKAW!
